應用化學以永續經營與永續發展

透過通識教育課程，將這影響未來世界變化的主要因素之一─化學延續介紹給同學，並深入了解化學的重要性及與生活關係乃是開課主要目的。根據科學研究，人類應用不是應用物理變化，就是應用化學變化。但隨著科技進步及人口增加，人類改變了地球環境，更因化學科學的使用，造成了各種全球環境問題，人類再度應用化學以永續經營與永續發展，已成為人類延長生存與適應地球環境改變的主要生活方式。
1.	介紹化學科學【科學精神】及其研究之範疇。
2.	主要內容包括物質成分、構造、化學反應及化學趨勢。
3.	介紹化學與生活【食、衣、住、行、育、樂、能源及海洋等】之相關性。帶給人類、地球之影響，及化學的未來展望。
4.	人類再度應用化學並建立永續經營與永續發展觀念。
This course investigates the importance of chemistry in everyday life. Topics include 1) the spirit of chemical science and its research scope; 2) the composition and structure of a substance, chemical reaction and trends in chemistry; 3) the role of chemistry in life such as food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, entertainment, energy, and marine; 4) the concept of sustainable development and its management.
